LITTLE ROCK BIBLE STUDY LEADERS:

PLANNING MEETING

The Bible Study Leaders are meeting on Thursday, 9th February, at 1.30pm to choose this year’s study . We will be selecting a book or a theme to study later this year. Preparation for Bible Study Groups involves the leaders meeting to look at the material,  preparing the sessions and praying together. If you would like to join this team, talk to Helen - training material and support is available. (You do not need to be a theologian ... your role is a group facilitator).  Thank you to the current leaders for their generosity and help with this parish project.  Bible Study is weekly and an excellent way to grow in understanding of Holy Scripture and to translate this learning into our lives. This will be our third series of study groups; more information will be made available through the bulletin regarding the dates and times of the sessions.

MUSIC LEADERS’ MEETING

Next Friday, 10th February, at 7.00pm will be the first Music Leaders’ meeting for 2012. Can each of the Parish groups please send a representative along to this meeting to review the Christmas music and to plan for the coming Easter ceremonies? We will be confirming which group will take responsibility for which area. Please bring your diary, positive suggestions and any plans to improve our Parish music. We have only three meetings in the year to bring our music group leaders together; these groups do work very hard to provide music at the weekend Masses. Please  keep these generous people and the Music Ministry in your prayers.

PARISH DANCE (optional fancy dress)

Come and join your parish community for an evening of dancing, fun, games and laughter on Saturday, 11th February, at 7.45pm in The Betty Knight Hall.  Dress up as your favourite character or just come as yourself. There will be a prize for the best fancy dress costume.  Please bring your own drinks, glasses and nibbles.  Tea and coffee will be provided.  Tickets are on sale - after all Masses -  at $5.00 per person for tables of 8. BE QUICK AS THESE EVENTS ARE NORMALLY A SELLOUT.

FEEDBACK FROM AUSTRALIA DAY CELEBRATIONS

Thank you to everyone who attended the Australia Day Mass and morning tea.  We have had some extremely hot January days so it was lovely to be able to relax in the air conditioned comfort of both the church and the hall. To those who brought along a plate to share and joined their friends to chat and share fun and friendship - you embody the spirit of Australia! Thank you!
