THANK YOU
Mothers’ Day corsages were home-grown this year thanks to the wonderful efforts of John Henry and his happy band of volunteer gardeners. The plants were from previous years which had been left at the foot of Our Lady's statue in the church. It was nice to have so many flowers that we were able to have a big bunch of these in front of the statue this year. So thank you to the lovely mums who left their chrysanthemum plants to be planted in the church grounds. Barbara Boggon
XAVIERCARE - REGIONAL MORNING TEA FEEDBACK
Thank you to all those who attended the talks on Meals on Wheels and Diabetes. We also welcomed some visitors from other parishes. It was a very informative morning; we enjoyed a lovely morning tea together.
LITTLE ROCK CATHLOLIC BIBLE STUDY 2012
The third series of Parish Bible Study Groups will commence in July. The topic this year for the first study is “The Way of Justice and Peace”. We are using a thematic study this year instead of focusing on one specific book from the Bible. Each session is supported by a DVD wrap-up lecture which is a summary of the week’s study. If you are keen to register for a course but wondering if this is for you, please put your name on the list and Helen will contact you to discuss how the parish Bible Groups are run. If you haven’t been in “study mode” and are worried about the study content, please be assured it doesn’t involve a computer: there is set reading and study questions to assist your learning. You will get the support of the Group Facilitator and other members to help with parts you may not understand. Participants are required to have their own Bible - it must be a version that meets the study requirements. Bibles are available at $15.00, the course materials cost $20.00. These need to be ordered and paid for ahead of time. The Bible Study meetings will be held weekly on either Tuesday evenings or Thursday afternoons - the sessions are 1½ hours (including DVD approx 20 mins); there are six sessions. We usually form groups of 8 - 10; regular attendance achieves a better learning outcome. This subject fits well with the Year of Grace and our responsibility to faithful citizenship. Please collect the leaflet and registration form from the Foyer.
